Donald Trump has reportedly ended his media blacklist, which had grown to include many of the most respected newspapers in the U.S.
Trump's contentious relationship with the press led him to create an informal list that had been "banned" from his events, although he still routinely spoke with journalists from some of those outlets. In particular, the Washington Posthad been on the list but also gotten numerous interviews with him.
CNN's Brian Stelter first reported on Wednesday that the blacklist had ended, and that press credentials would be restored for numerous organizations including Politico, Univision, the Daily Beast, the Huffington Post, andBuzzFeed News.
The move reflects a cooling of heads between Trump and the media. In early August, the press had at times become the focus of Trump's attacks, if not his entire campaign. Since then, he has revamped his campaign, bringing in new advisors that had been expected to push Trump away from his hardened rhetoric.
