Sonja Durham passed away from stage IV cancer this past weekend,Watch When the Camellia Blooms Online and if you do not know who she was directly, Lady Gaga can fill you in.
Durham was one of Gaga's closest friends, and the inspiration behind the singer's "Grigio Girls." After her passing, Gaga penned an emotional note on Instagram in honor of her best friend.

"Thank you Sonja for inspiring me and all of us everyday with your joy."

"I love you so much it brings tears to my eyes just to think of all the years we've spent together backstage running the show, taking care of each other. You are one of a kind. I'm so proud of you," she continued.
"And you and Andre, your unbreakable beautiful love is what life is all about. You can see it in this photo. Wanted to share this with the world and show them what true beauty looks like," she said.
Gaga has discussed Durham's battle with cancer before, emphasizing the necessity for more communities of support for those with cancer, as well as the need for more research to lead to a cure.
