Apple finally has a fix for the annoying,Horror Archives crackling sounds some users have complained about hearing on calls with their new iPhone 8 handsets.
The patch comes in the form of a software update, iOS 11.0.2, that will address the crackling problem and fix other minor bugs affecting the new OS.
The company previously confirmed that the crackling problem was affecting users in a "small number of cases," and promised it stemmed from a software issue, not a bigger problem with the iPhone 8 hardware.
If you're one of the affected iPhone 8 users (or anyone using an iPhone on iOS 11, really), just head to Settings —> General —> Software Updateto download the the update and keep your system running smoothly.
The update follows iOS version 11.0.1, which was pushed out last week to fix an issue that prevented some users with Microsoft email accounts from sending messages.
You can expect more incremental updates down the line from Apple to solve small issues as they arise, which is common with a big new release like iOS 11, as it's adopted by more of the iPhone-using public. If you want the best experience using the software, be sure to keep your phone updated.
