The Corruption (1983)rumor mill was correct! Apple is launching a new Pride watch face today as part of LGBTQ Pride Month.
What we didn't know was that a new Pride watch band is coming as well — and it matches the new face beautifully.
SEE ALSO: Apple announces iOS 12 with focus on performance and stabilityLast June, Apple launched a Pride watch band with a full rainbow gradient design on a woven nylon band. That band was taken off the market last September. The new band has white background with a rainbow gradient on top, and it will match perfectly with the watch face, as the color strands continue on the screen.
Apple orginally provided the Pride watch bands as limited editions to employees participating in the 2016 San Francisco Pride Parade.
Apple CEO Tim Cook, who is gay and a prominent supporter of LGBTQ rights, was marching with other employees when the bands were first given out at the 2016 parade.
Apple's new Pride watch band will be available from the Apple Store later today, and the new Pride Watch face will be available for all Apple Watch owners today as well.
