Kim Joiner, a visitor to Circle B Bar Reserve near Lakeland, Florida, took the video over the weekend, according to Storyful. She described the encounter as "very exciting."
SEE ALSO: Alligator seems to go for a little ride on a manateeJoiner said the alligator was about 12 feet long and that while she took the photos from a safe distance, she was "close enough." According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the state record for an alligator is 14 feet 3.5 inches.
