Donald Trump is Sport Archivesa man of quick fixes -- a big wall to deal with immigration, random rallies to build popularity, or "alternative facts" to blur away undesirable truths.
So it's no wonder he has quite the fix for keeping his tie in place -- clear office tape.

For a man weirdly obsessed with appearances, Trump is pretty loose with that tie. It's a small quirk that actually tells you a lot about the life philosophy of the reality star-businessman who was recently elected president -- at least if Twitter jokes have anything to say about it.

That tape trick isn't ideal, but it gets the job done. That's because correctly tying a tie, so that tape isn't needed, is no walk in the park. It requires a little more thought, a couple more steps. Which is why, much like health care policy, doing it is apparently just too dang complicated for Trump to handle.
As GQhas explained, Trump lets his tie hang a little too low, or "a good four inches beyond where your tie should stop." This means the slack in the back isn't able to reach the built-in loop that sits on the back of the tie. If he'd just shorten the tie in the front and loop in that extra slack in the back, everything would be in its proper place.
And even when it appears to be fitted into that loop, that thinner part of the tie is still just hanging too low. Basically, the whole thing is too long and getting a different-sized tie (maybe even one of the $19 ones he apparently still sells online) would probably be a better option altogether.
You might say that his approach of glazing over the hard stuff and creating more problems as a result isn't something he reserves for clothing choices.
