AirPods lovers weren't left out of Apple's WWDC 2021 keynote.
Apple didn't announce a new version of its popular wireless earbuds,Watch Where Sleeping Dogs Lie Online but it did reveal a few cool new features they'll get in the upcoming iOS 15 update for iPhones.
First up is "Conversation Boost," which can make a pair of AirPods Pro focus on and amplify the voice of someone standing directly in front of the user. That could be handy for those with hearing difficulties or someone who wants to have a conversation in a busy area. A new menu will let users turn Conversation Boost on and off, as well as adjust left-right sound balance and noise cancellation levels.
AirPods have also gotten new Find My support. If you lose your AirPods, your iPhone will not only let you know through a push notification, but it can tell you wherethey are. This is in line with Apple's recent "finding lost items" fascination, as the company just launched AirTags earlier this year.
Last but not least, spatial audio is coming to Mac and Apple TV devices. For example, you'll be able to connect a pair of AirPods Max and get three-dimensional audio from whatever content you're watching. That's been available on iOS for some time, with Apple Music getting spatial audio albums this week.
Again, it might be a while before we hear about the next generation of AirPods. But until then, these nifty, new features should tide you over.
