Samsung used CES to reveal a revolution in ball technology. Ballie is Patang Paseena (2024) Hindi Web Seriesa rolling robot that follows you around — kind of like BB-8, but the size of a softball.
According to Samsung, it can be used to patrol your home, its camera searching for burglars. That camera can also be used to capture "special moments," said Sebastian Seung, executive vice president at Samsung Electronics. Moments like your grandmother's bewildered face as a robot ball follows her to the bathroom in the middle of the night, or your dog right before it destroys your new toy.
Samsung also says Ballie is a fitness assistant, because nothing gets your blood pumping like being chased or chirped at by a robot.
It can also communicate with other smart devices.
No word on when Ballie will be available or how much it'll cost. We'll update this story when we get more information.
Earlier at CES, Samsung showed off its new Lite phones, Chromebook, and a vertical TV for watching Instagram Stories the way they were meant to be watched, in glorious 4K.
