If you lived a lifestyle of luxury, erotice monky having owned a fashion label that was worn by the likes of Kate Moss and collaborated with Kanye West, using crowdfunding to sort out personal bills might just make you ripe for lampoonery.
Dan Single, the Australian fashion designer behind denim label Ksubi, shattered his legs after falling off a balcony on the third floor of Parisian hotel Grand Hotel Amour in March, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.
SEE ALSO: Facebook's fundraisers now help you raise money for yourself and friendsSingle set up a GoFundMe page -- titled "Shit Got Real" -- asking the public to donate toward his A$250,000 goal to help with medical bills as he is "in a rehab centre in Paris recovering," according to the page as per Pedestrian.TV.
"There is a fundraising dinner in Sydney in early May, obviously you will not all be able to make it. SO... Somebody suggested this! Gofundme! Help fund the hospital bill, rehab bill, early flights home, being unable to make bread and work over the next months and all the incidentals the family is covering at the moment."
While there were donations, more then a few were lodged purely to people could call Single "pathetic" or "immature" for having the audacity to ask for money. What with considering he made BRW's Young Rich List in 2009, valuing him and his Ksubi co-founder at A$24 million.

"I am sorry you are hurt, it could happen to anyone, and I do not wish you ill. You should realise however that you project the image of a very immature man. You won't be 'given' 250K: it's [sic] seems self-delusional, greedy and grasping," reads one anonymous donor, who pledged five dollars.
"Fund your own recovery. You're a disgrace," reads another comment. "How come you can fund partying, drinking and overseas trips but not your own recovery?" asks another.
"I'll give you $5 with the sole intent of telling you what an idiot everyone thinks you are," wrote an anonymous commenter. Ouch.

Single is married to model Bambi Northwood-Blyth, 25, and they both own rosé label Pour Les Amour and sleepwear label P.Jamé.
On their website they've spruiked their love for "exploring the globe, one island and one runway at a time," which they've covered on their Instagram accounts.
The GoFundMe campaign raised A$405 (US$306) in a day, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
But not long after the less-than-nice wave of comments started rolling in, the page was taken down.
