So many thirsty Tinder users,Drunken Woman Pickup Sex so little time.
If only there were a way to sort the wheat from the chaff. The diamonds from the rough. The paying users from the cheapskates -- apparently so.
It was something nobody really asked for, but in the interests of romance (and monetisation) Tinder has begun trialling a new service called Tinder Boost. Its mission? To allow paying users to skip the line, appearing as one of the first profiles when someone opens the app.
When using Tinder Boost, a user's profile will appear first thing (or close to it) for fellow users in your area, for a whopping 30 minutes. The brand says that equals up to 10 times more profile views.
In a statement via email, Tinder also said the service will further their ambitions of "providing you a simple, fun introduction to new people nearby so you can get out and meet them in the real world."
A lofty goal to be sure, and nothing at all like how many people use the app -- as a swipe-y game of "boost my confidence" where one or both parties CBF meeting up IRL.
Users can purchase "boosts" any time, and if you already pay for Tinder Plus, you get one free "boost" every week anyhoo. But be warned, popularity doesn't come cheap.
Tinder is currently testing Tinder Boost amongst users in Australia exclusively, saying they "hope to get the whole world boosting soon." What a time to be alive.
Now all you need is the only thing in-app purchases can'tbuy -- genuine intimacy. #ForeverAlone
