You may have Peter Baumgartnerbeen enjoying watching Star Wars movies during the holiday season, but that's about to come to an end.
Disney and Lucasfilm announced the release date of the still-untitled Star Wars Episode IXon Tuesday, and it's May 24, 2019.

Episode VIII, aka The Last Jedi, is coming out this December -- as did Rogue Oneand The Force Awakens.
But May is more traditional when it comes to Star Wars; the original movie arrived on May 25, 1977, and all subsequent Star Wars films followed suit with early summer releases.
Of course, this could all change -- after all, The Force Awakenswas initially slated for a summer release too.
Director Colin Trevorrow says he has completed the script for Episode IX, which will likely start shooting in 2018. An early reading is rumored to happen soon.
